Our Registered Technicians 


Our Veterinary Technicians (animal nurses) are fully trained and registered with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, meaning they are specially trained to handle all your pet's nursing needs.  Our technicians like veterinarians are required update their training and continuing education, so they can stay up to date with the latest advancements in nursing and care for your pets.

Dee Hanson
RVT, CRP, Office Manager 

  Dee joined Westmount Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2011, she been a wonderful loyal employee for over 11 years.  She is our Head Technician, office manager and also has her qualifications for Rehabilitation Practitioner. She graduated at the top of her class which earned her recognition from the OAVT for her academic achievements.  She has been working in the profession for over 17 yrs; she loves caring for all her patients while being a great resource for her pet parents.  Dee has a real passion for rehabilitation therapy and completed Canine Rehabilitation Therapy program at the University of Tennessee in 2012.  She now provides rehabilitation and laser therapy to our patients, and is always looking to share her knowledge with clients.  She is also a Certified Fear Free Professional level 3;  Making our environment comfortable and fear free for your pets.
  When Dee is not working, she enjoys spending her time doing volunteer work with C.A.A.T (Canadian Animal Assist Team) traveling to remote areas providing veterinary services to animals that have no other means of care.  She also volunteers her time locally with a community outreach program providing veterinary services within Kitchener/New Dundee community.
  When she isn't busy nursing pets; you can find her spending time with her husband, Jeff playing music and spending time with her Australian cattle dogs "Matilda and Rhys".  She also has "Mr. Onions", an abandoned Dwarf Lopped ear rabbit found on a country road.  They all love to be outdoors, gardening, camping and hiking.


Kayla Scott
RVT

  Kayla is a Registered Veterinary Technical who joined the Westmount Family in the fall of 2015.  Kayla graduated from Georgian College in 2015 with Honors.   
  Growing up she had a variety of pets from fish and reptiles to pigs and everything in-between.  Kayla shares her home with her beloved Tortoiseshell Kitty named "Jazz", who rules the house.  Her fur and scale family also includes the family dog "Rambo" a German Shepard affectionally called "Beau" and her late fathers Ball Pythons "Poison and Ivy".
   When Kayla is not nursing patients at the practice, she can be found enjoying her hobbies; Photography, drawing, reading, horseback riding or spending time with her nieces and nephew.  Kayla's photography skill can be seen throughout the website, she has an amazing ability to capture precious moments with our pets.
  Kayla has a keen interest in nutrition and is very knowledgeable.  She is happy to assist you with any nutritional questions or concerns.
